April SMHC Seminar: Mental Health Literacy in Comprehensive School-Community Mental Health Systems

The School Mental Health Collaborative (SMHC) is hosting three seminars in spring 2026. All graduate students, undergraduate students, faculty, and staff who have an interest in work surrounding school mental health are welcome to attend!

Title: Mental Health Literacy in Comprehensive School-Community Mental Health Systems

Description: This session will introduce the concept of mental health literacy and explore its relevance in schools and communities. Participants will gain an understanding of the core components of mental health literacy and how they promote well-being. The presenter will then examine how mental health literacy can be applied within comprehensive school-community mental health systems. Attendees will have the opportunity to consider practical implications for their work and practice settings.

Presenter Bio: Dr. Eliza Godfrey (she/her) is a licensed psychologist and Nationally Certified School Psychologist. She received her doctorate degree in School Psychology from UW–Madison in 2024. Go Badgers! She completed a pre-doctoral internship at the Munroe-Meyer Institute, University of Nebraska Medical Center, and a postdoctoral fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin and Children’s Wisconsin. Dr. Godfrey is currently a child and adolescent psychologist in a community mental and behavioral health setting in Janesville, Wisconsin.
